Hugh is a distinguished wine professional and the driving force behind Avant Wine since 2022.
Having achieved the prestigious WSET Diploma in Wines in 2025 and holding accreditation as a WSET Certified Educator, he combines deep technical expertise with a passion for delivering exceptional wine experiences.
Alongside his role at Avant Wine, Hugh works with a national wholesaler, supplying wine to the on-trade sector. He is also an experienced wine judge, educator, and presenter, regularly delivering tastings, training sessions, and events for a wide range of audiences.
Known for his engaging and energetic presentation style, Hugh brings wine to life in an approachable and memorable way.
